The Digital Poster Center is Recommended in Meeting Professionals International Communiqué
Sandra Armstrong of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Mentions the Digital Poster Center

Vancouver - December 16, 2009 - The Digital Poster Center, a subsidiary of Neo Code Software, today announced they have been mentioned in the Meeting Professionals International Magazine, CommuniquŽ. In the magazine, Sandra Armstrong of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada wrote an article titled, "E-posters: Technology Strikes Again." Armstrong suggests visiting www.digitalpostercenter.com for more information on digital posters from a Canadian supplier.

In the article, Armstrong provides the historical background for digital posters:

"Scientific meetings are an important forum for researchers to showcase and receive feedback on their workÉIn the 1970s, visual presentations in the form of posters were created, allowing for more exchange of ideas in a tradeshow format. Fast forward to today and some meetings are even running out of poster space for the high rate of submissionsÉIn addition to online submission and review processes, the invention of e-posters has addressed the high volume problem. E-posters are displayed on computer screens or large high-definition televisions for delegates to view at their convenience. Instead of walking through rows of poster boards in a traditional set-up, registrants stand at a station that scrolls through a number of posters on a similar topic."

After serving conference planners and poster session service companies for a number of years, it became clear that there was the need for more comprehensive software support and the Digital Poster Center was launched. The Digital Poster Center can take presentations from dead to dynamic, transform posters into valuable CME assets, and give them a post-conference afterlife.

Armstrong also points out the advantages of digital posters in the article:

"Displaying posters digitally reduces the space requirements, thereby creating potential savings on room rental charges. It is a greener option, since no paper or ink is used to create the posters; and there are no transportation costs for the poster presenters. Some of the systems even allow for videos to be imbedded in the files. E-posters can be archived and searched by topic, keyword, author, etc."

To date, the Digital Poster Center has supported poster sessions for as few as 50 presentations and as many as 900. The Digital Poster Center peer review system can handle rank ordering 10,000 abstract submissions with ease, and the abstract submission and peer review process can manage multiple conferences through one administrative interface.
